Looking for the best resort for an RV holiday? Take a look at The Palms, a luxury Yuma RV Resort opened in 2008 and self-styled "the newest 55-plus RV Resort in Arizona".
Snowbirds planning to spend Christmas in Arizona may be interested in The Palms RV resort, which opened for its first season on October 1, 2008. It was advertised widely as "the newest 55-plus RV Resort in Arizona". The Palms, in sunny Yuma, Arizona, is a resort where lots may be either purchased or rented. According to industry marketing company Ownership Resorts, "Throughout the United States & Canada there are less than 200 RV Resorts that offer the opportunity of lot ownership. Of these, about 60 are completely 'sold out'." Prices for serviced lots in The Palms RV Reort range from about $82,000 USD to $115,000 USD. The resort was designed to "take winter living to a new level in Yuma with more amenities", according to Bill Evans in a report by the Yuma Sun (Lobeck, Joyce, A good season for winter visitors' hosts, April 18, 2009). Evans, project manager for the resort (which is patterned after similar developments in Palm Springs, but with a lower price tag), added, "We're trying to capture a new crowd." About The Palms RV Resort in YumaAZ According to images on The Palms web site, the facility was largely completed by October, 2008. The last word will go to the one and only RVer review Suite101 was able to locate for this article. On 10/10/09, Cliff wrote , "All of the lots had patios, and the lots were large enough to feel that we could spread out and not be too close to our neighbors. The resort was spotlessly clean and the staff were wonderful...professional and courteous.... We had a good time. We will stay there again." Anyone who stays at this new resort is welcome to post a comment. HOL101
